Recertification of the Certificate in Training Delivery Part A is required every three years, from the date it was initially awarded by TAP Learning (part of QA Ltd), is a mandatory requirement for approved clinical coding trainers to maintain their ‘approved’ status, as part of the Approved Trainer Requirements Framework.

As part of the re-design of the Approved Trainer Refresher course, the Terminology and Classifications Delivery Service are providing a series of one-day, face-to-face events throughout 2023-24 to enable approved trainers to recertify their Certificate in Training Delivery Part A, awarded initially by TAP Learning.

The Approved Trainer Recertification will provide approved trainers with access to a member of the Terminology and Classifications Delivery Service who is a trained TAP Assessor, as well as allowing them to benefit from delivering an assessed training session to their peers, who will have knowledge of, and be familiar with, the content of the training session.

Additionally, approved trainers will act as delegates for other trainers delivering their assessed training sessions throughout the day, allowing for sharing of best practice and differing techniques for delivering training as well as potentially learning from the content of the other sessions.

If you are an approved clinical coding trainer who is overdue their recertification, please complete this booking form at the earliest opportunity and submit to information.standards@nhs.net with the associated purchase order document. Joining packs will be sent to attendee's at least four weeks prior to the event.

We will update the places remaining at each of the events at regular intervals.

Whilst it would be preferable to attend one of the above events, for the reasons stated, if you are unable to, you are still able to attend the equivalent provided by TAP Learning as was the case in previous years.
