The SNOMED CT UK Edition consists of the International Edition plus the UK-specific content provided within the UK Clinical Extension and UK Drug Extension - for use in the UK only. The International Edition on its own is insufficient for use in the UK.

The SNOMED UK National Release Centre is hosted by NHS England (Information Representation Services) and is responsible for the creation of, and delegated authority to license, the SNOMED CT UK Edition and derivatives as well as developing and maintaining UK specific content released in the UK Clinical Extension and UK Drug Extension.

The SNOMED CT UK Edition, extensions and derivatives can be downloaded from the Technology Reference Update Distribution (TRUD) platform. This requires you to create an account and subscribe for the relevant release pack and accept the associated licence agreements prior to download.  You will also be able to access the API to automate the download of release files. 

If your details change you can update your information on the TRUD registration page. This is particularly important if you plan to deploy SNOMED CT enabled applications outside SNOMED CT International Member territories as there are additional licensing considerations.

You can also access the SNOMED CT UK Edition via the NHS England Terminology Server delivering content in FHIR® compliant, machine readable format.
